 | Interscholastic sports are an integral part of our educational program and are a central feature of the school's mission to educate the whole child. Our athletic program supports student participation in multiple sporting events and promotes opportunities and experiences for all students. In addition to athletic skill development, Meadowridge School instills in its student athletes positive attitudes that reflect the ideas of respect, teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship, as well as the values of self-esteem and self-discipline.
Meadowridge School has a wide variety of athletic teams competing in five leagues. Our school teams participate in both the local public school league and the Independent School Association league. The ISA league, or ISEA at the PYP level, includes other independent schools in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. One of our teams, the U-13 Boys Basketball team, attend the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) annual national competition. At the MYP and GP levels, students compete in GVISAA (Greater Vancouver Independent Schools Athletic Association), FVSSAA (Fraser Valley Secondary Schools Athletic Association), and MRPMSSAA (Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Secondary Schools Athletic Association). We are also a member of BCSS (BC School Sports).
When it comes to athletics, I like the way Meadowridge gives students access to a variety of options. You can be involved in more than one sport, and though the teams are competitive, you don't have to be a star athlete to participate.
