History
Meadowridge School was founded by a dedicated group of parents who saw a need for better educational choices in the community. They had a vision for a school that would:
- Challenge their children intellectually
- Nurture their interests and strengths
- Teach the values of citizenship and service to the community
- Educate the next generation of leaders
It was with this vision and the courage to fulfill it that Meadowridge School first opened its doors in September of 1985.
Since then, the school has made great strides from its humble beginnings with 85 students in a ramshackle collection of mobile classrooms on rented property. Today, Meadowridge is a modern facility located on 27 acres of land with an enrollment of over 500 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.
In 2006, the school reached a significant milestone in being accredited as an official International Baccalaureate World School for the Primary and Middle Years Programmes.
In February of 2008, the school completed a $9 million expansion, bringing the entire teaching facility to over 100,000 square feet.
