1. Diversity & Inclusion

✔️Design and develop programs that support the inclusion of Meadowridge learners

Completed Investigated different models for student support. Currently developing learning and social-emotional counselling programs.

Completed Redesigned admissions assessments to foster a more inclusive and diverse student population.

Completed & Ongoing Offered professional development in Indigenous Education and Belonging.

Establish a Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, Justice and Belonging (DEIJB) group to guide the School in its understanding and approach to diversity and inclusivity

Completed Appointed a Director of Strategic Programs to oversee DEIBJ initiatives—now called “Belonging”.

Completed & Ongoing Launched ongoing Antibias and Antiracism (ABAR) training for all administrative team members.

On Track Conducting a sustainability assessment to inform a roadmap that will guide regenerative sustainability in both education and school operations.

✔️Reduce financial barriers by providing increased financial assistance and student scholarships

2. Environmental Stewardship & Regeneration

✔️ Build a continuum of learning and action that reflects a regenerative relationship with the land

Completed Established EcoClubs across the Continuum.

Create policies and procedures that guide operational practices to model regenerative sustainability

On Track Conducting a sustainability assessment to inform a roadmap that will guide regenerative sustainability in both education and school operations.

On Track Investigating a no-idle campus policy and the outline and definition for the school’s carbon-neutral goals.

On Track Investigating greener options for student transport to field trips, athletic events, and daily travel.

On Track Collaborated with SAGE Dining to source single-use packaging with reusable options.

On Track Investigating and developing a sustainable event guide to align school events with environmental stewardship and regeneration.

✔️Engage the community to advocate for a thriving future

Completed Hosted a food waste reduction campaign during Earth Week.

Amidst the impact of climate change, as evidenced by wildfires, failed crops, increased food costs, and natural habitat loss, the Meadowridge community has started to take a regenerative approach to, "living well, with others and for others, in a just community." EcoClubs have been organically forming across the continuum, with students in the elementary school embarking on a riparian restoration project along Latimer Creek, intending to enrich biodiversity and foster a healthy ecosystem. A passionate group of middle school students are conducting a feasibility study to bring solar power onto the Meadowridge campus and a group of high school students are working with SAGE and the Salvation Army soup kitchen to divert food waste away from the compost and serve it to people in need.

3. Retention & Recruitment

Develop a comprehensive and competitive employee compensation plan

Completed Conducted a comparative survey of benefit plans across ISABC schools and established a standard schedule of review.

Completed Provided ongoing guidance to hiring managers to help hire Mission- and Vision-appropriate teachers and staff.

4. Our Campus Master Plan

Begin construction of additional phases

5. Financial Stability, Sustainability & Predictability

✔️ Maintain our Strategical Financial Plan to support programming and strategic initiatives

Completed Investigated affordability for families, including a modified MEID structure, harmonization of tuition, and tax credit implications.

Completed Transitioned from the Meadowridge Education Investment Deposit (MEID) to an Enrolment Fee.

✔️ Foster a culture of philanthropy and increase charitable giving amongst all community stakeholders

Completed & Ongoing Concentrated fund development on major gifts while also maintaining Annual Giving.

Grow the School Endowment to support financial assistance and the Meadowridge Scholarship Program

Completed & Ongoing Utilized strategic events to raise funds for the Endowment. Directed all funds raised from the Golf Tournament to the Endowment.

On Track Drafting a proposal that will redirect unused Financial Aid dollars to the Endowment Fund, ensuring a more sustainable Financial Assistance and Scholarship Programs.

“Our initiatives aim to enhance affordability for families through a new multifaceted approach. We have restructured (eliminated) the Meadowridge Education Investment Deposit (MEID) into a lower one-time enrolment fee. This will ensure families receive meaningful financial relief from the start. Additionally, our harmonized tuition rates across all programs simplify budgeting, making education costs more manageable. Furthermore, we have lowered the entrance scholarship grade from 10 to 9 to maximize benefits for families, giving students a smoother transition into a challenging academic program. These combined efforts are designed to ease the financial burden on families, making quality education more accessible and equitable.”

“For the past three years and into the foreseeable future, we’ve committed all net profits from our annual Golf Tournament to strengthen the Endowment Fund. Each year, the Board allocates a portion of funds to support Financial Aid and Student Scholarships at Meadowridge. Going forward, we will explore redirecting any unused funds to further enhance the Endowment, aiming to eventually fully fund these programs through the Endowment rather than our operating budget. A robust Endowment is vital for our school’s sustainability and stability, so our efforts will continue to be persistent and intentional.”
