Sabreena Johal (née Gill) '02

Dr. Sabreena Johal is a Canadian medical doctor serving at the Canadian High Commission in London, UK. An alumna of Meadowridge School in British Columbia, she pursued a medical career driven by a deep sense of compassion and care. In her role at the High Commission, Dr. Johal has become a trusted advocate for her colleagues, addressing workplace concerns and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within Global Affairs Canada. Her efforts have been recognized for fostering a more inclusive and representative workforce.

Emma Newbery (née Germain) '12

Emma Newbery is a Vancouver-based lawyer specializing in financial services and restructuring law. She is an associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, where she advises financial institutions, private lenders, and borrowers on commercial lending, insolvency, and restructuring matters. Beyond her legal practice, Emma is active in the legal community, having presented at insolvency law conferences and serving on the board of Girls to the Power of Math, a non-profit promoting STEM education for girls .

James Antifaev ‘01

James Antifaev leads activities in new and emerging markets for Spaceflight, particularly focused on missions beyond LEO (MEO, GEO, and cislunar) as well as new applications of Spaceflight’s Sherpa Orbital Transfer Vehicle. Prior to Spaceflight, James held roles in product management at Loon, Alphabet’s stratospheric balloon venture, as well as product, business development, and engineering roles at Maxar, MDA, and the European Space Agency.

Jonathan Hsu ‘17

Jonny Hsu has diverse work experience in the fields of operations, venture capital, and consulting. Before joining Valance Lab, Jonny held the role of Director of Investments at Front Row Ventures and Venture Capital Analyst at Esplanade Ventures. Jonny also gained experience at ACE Consulting Group, where he served as both Director and Associate. Jonny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and Business with a specialization in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo.
