What motivates you to donate monthly to Meadowridge?

Meadowridge has been an integral part of our family’s journey. When my wife Kim and I moved to Maple Ridge in 1993, we sought a school that aligned with our values. We found that in Meadowridge—a close-knit, forward-thinking community. Our four children—Gabrielle, Julia, David, and Andries—all attended, and we quickly recognized the school’s transformative impact. Supporting Meadowridge is our way of giving back and ensuring future generations benefit as our children did.

What aspects of Meadowridge inspire you the most?

Meadowridge has always been more than just a school—it’s a community built on vision, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. When I joined the Board of Governors in 2004, I saw firsthand the dedication of its leaders who helped shape the school’s future. The school’s evolution, from overcoming financial challenges to becoming a top rated International Baccalaureate Continuum school, is a testament to its strength and purpose.

As you reflect on your children’s experiences at the school, what are you most thankful for?

I am grateful for the way Meadowridge shaped my children into principled, responsible, and compassionate adults. The supportive teachers, engaging curriculum, and strong sense of community provided them with a foundation that extends far beyond academics.

If you were encouraging others to support the school, what would you say?

Investing in Meadowridge is investing in the future and our community. The school’s long-term vision, dedicated faculty, and commitment to student success make it truly special. Every contribution helps sustain and enhance this extraordinary environment for current and future students.

What are your hopes for Meadowridge’s future?

With ongoing support from its community, the school will remain a place where students are challenged, inspired, and empowered to make a difference.

Looking back, I couldn’t ask for a greater reward than seeing my children, and so many others, flourish because of this incredible school. Looking forward, I hope that one day my grandchildren will also have the opportunity to experience the same enriching education and supportive community that Meadowridge has provided for our family.
