Do you own stocks or bonds? Natalie & Mike Bradley share their story

Middle and high school parents, Natalie & Mike Bradley share their experience donating securities to Meadowridge School and the tax advantages of doing this!

Why did you choose to donate securities to Meadowridge?

We appreciate the advantage of donating securities with no capital gains tax, meaning that more money gets to where it can be used productively.

What aspects of Meadowridge inspire you the most and led to your donation?

Our kids have grown up in the school being taught in amazing, innovative ways by great teachers throughout. Recently, we have been inspired by the learning through mentoring and collaboration across the years. Our teens are able to take on responsibilities of robotics coaching, CAS club leadership, volunteering with Journey Home, being the older buddies, bridging ages in math and student council, as well as embracing the Harkness method and outdoor education. They learn so much through these experiences, building communication, confidence and empathy, across the board, which prepares them so well for beyond graduation. We hope our donation can go towards STEAM experiences across the grades.

If you were encouraging others to support the school, what would you say?

Whether you give your time, energy, ideas, cash or securities, you'll see the spark and it will reach the kids in so many different ways.

What are your hopes for Meadowridge’s future?

We see great new initiatives widening cultural and socioeconomic outreach and inclusion, with more scholarships, financial aid, and community enrichment. We hope that Meadowridge can grow the high school to offer even more DP courses and opportunities, with more facilities to benefit the whole school, for more families, whilst maintaining a cohesive integrated community.
