To celebrate Indigenous People’s Day this year, we gathered together for our in-person school assembly. The Indigenous Education Committee created an amazing line up of guest speakers including Troy Charlie from the Sts'ailes Nation and David Whitebean, from the Wild Moccasin Dance Troup who shared their teachings, lessons, and “heartbeat” performances.
From Junior Kindergarten to Grade 11, each grade shared a project or learning about Indigenous perspectives and the First Peoples Principles of Learning across the continuum. It was so amazing to see and hear the engaging, reflective, and inspirational projects students had worked on during the year. Thank you students and teachers!
