How I Got to Meadowridge
I drove… (ha). I decided that I really wanted to work with a community to build long-term relationships and to inspire positive change year after year.
Interesting Fact
I’ve jumped out of a plane (and yes, on purpose). Experiencing such intense joy following the most intense fear I’ve ever felt was strangely exhilarating. Let’s just say that since that adventure I’m pretty happy to be alive!
Most Important Teaching Lesson Learned
It’s not about me…but then again. It was an epiphany in year five – when I realized that each student has their own life full of chaos and wonder and that when they were emotional or late or didn’t perform – it wasn’t about me (and that I shouldn’t be upset) but then again…if I didn’t do all I could to authentically connect with each student, then it would be about me. From that day on, I met each day with newfound clarity.
Favorite Book
A Prayer for Owen Meany, John Irving
Favorite Pastime
Paddle boarding and e-biking and swimming and dancing and cooking for friends. It’s kind of hard to choose just one…
What I look forward to in the year ahead
Fostering deep connections with the Meadowridge Community members and developing and collaborating on strategies to support and inspire students and families.
