Academic Immersion (AIM) is a three-week, non-credit residential or commuter program for students to focus intensively on a single academic topic while experiencing life on a college campus. This summer it is offering three AIM tracks: Introduction to Experimental Psychology; Introduction to Medicine; and Creative Writing. Each track combines classroom work in the subject area with hands-on experiential learning activities. Students must be entering their junior or senior year of high school in fall 2023.

Model G20 Leadership Summit brings together high school students worldwide for a fully immersive learning experience. It offers young leaders the opportunity to practice international diplomacy and global leadership through participation in interactive workshops, dynamic lectures, and rigorous classes based on real G20 topics.
Rosetta Institute offers a variety of workshops related to molecular medicine – Molecular Biology of Cancer, Molecular Neuroscience, Molecular Immunology, Molecular Biology of Aging, Medicinal Chemistry, Medical Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics of Cancer, Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and Biomedical Research – that are taught by PhD-level instructors with years of research and teaching experience. Through engaging lectures and hands-on laboratory classes, students learn normal molecular and cellular biology, and then learn how these normal processes are disrupted or distorted during the development of disease. OCAD University’s Summer Workshops are week-long studio experiences dedicated to emerging artists and designers ages 15 to 19 who are considering post-secondary education in a creative industry or field.
In this immersive 5-day workshop, students will work closely with OCAD U instructors while spending time on campus and in studios to further develop their art and design practice.

SVA’s Pre-College Program offers courses taught by the same faculty of leading art professionals who teach in the college’s undergraduate degree programs. Students will explore the fundamentals of art and design at a level not readily available in high school. Students will receive one college credit for successful completion of the fall or spring program and three credits for the successful completion of the summer program.
The fall and spring programs are open to all students who will be enrolled in high school at the time of the program and must be at least 14-18 years. The summer program is open to all students who will be entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of high school in the fall of 2023.
Future Sciences Leader (FSL)
Future Science Leaders can be a multi-year program. All prospective students apply to the first-year program called Discover.
Each week of Discover, you will participate in innovative learning and skill-building activities in a wide variety of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & design, and math) topics led by diverse experts and professionals. The topics covered each week will vary depending on the expert leading the session; some examples include disease modelling with a mathematician, PCR analysis with a geneticist, and machine learning with a quantum physicist. Teen Advisory Program (TAG)
The TAG team is Science World's Teen Advisory Group. The team plans, promotes, and runs the Science World Extravagant Evening for Teens (SWEET) events at Science World. To organize the SWEET events, Teen Advisory Group members meet several times a month with Science World's Youth Program Specialist to come up with engaging event themes, programs, digital content, and guest presenters of actual interest to teens.
High School Students Work Experience
Offers are made on first-come first-serve basis. Apply early as positions are filled up quickly!
We offer all Metro Vancouver students in Grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to gain valuable volunteer work experience at Science World. The placements are three-weeks-long (60 to 80 hours) and are aligned with the school-year calendar. Teachers are invited to sign up students they feel would benefit from a placement at Science World.
Orthopedists work alongside professionals such as Physical Therapists to intervene when a bone-related injury needs repair. This is often surgical, although not always. There will be several hands-on labs to explore the types of treatments an Orthopedist would do.

The Young Doctor Summer Experience
The Young Doctor Summer Experience gives students aged 15-18 a fully immersive experience of working as a doctor in London.
Over the course of 15 days, students will have some of the most exclusive experiences of medicine that one can imagine: perform key medical tasks in a London hospital, attend patient consultations, practise taking blood, and learn to stitch up wounds.

The Young Engineer Summer Experience
The Young Engineer Summer Experience gives students aged 15-18 a fully immersive experience of working as an engineer in London.
Over the course of 15 days, students will have some of the most exclusive experiences of engineering that one can imagine: take apart a petrol engine, visit the largest collection of classic cars in the UK and board a Boeing 747 jet with aerospace engineers.

The goal of Camp Psych is to provide a window into how psychological science works. Campers will get experiences that introduce them to research in psychology in a fun, challenging, and engaging environment. Perfect for students interested in psychology, this camp gives students an insider view of the field as well as preparation for college studies.
SIG provides summer academic enrichment programs for gifted, academically talented, creative, and high-potential students in grades 1-12. It is a place where gifted students can be themselves and be part of a community of like-minded peers. SIG is also a place of exploration, laughter, potential, creativity, innovation, and fun.

The Summer Journalism Academy at Boston University gives high school students the opportunity to expand their skills and prepare for college, either through a residential experience on campus or through remote instruction from home.
Each academy instructor is also a working journalist, so what’s taught is grounded in real-life experience. Each lesson is tied to its practical application, by giving students actual reporting assignments. Each day is a sample of life as a news reporter.

The Model United Nations Summer Academy is a unique opportunity for rising high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduating high school seniors to learn how diplomats conduct research, deliver statements, draft resolutions and negotiate. Students will spend one week at the beautiful New Jersey campus (30 minutes from New York City), meet students from around the world, and learn from a real life diplomat!

Through this online program, students can learn an entire year of a language in one summer! Whether they want to continue learning a language or pick up a new one, the Summer Language Institute is a great way to delve deeply into another culture and another world and acquire a useful skill. With over 10 languages offered at varying levels, students are sure to find a language that speaks to them.
For Grade 9-12
The UCLA Game Lab Summer Institute introduces high school students to game-making as an artistic practice, teaching them techniques and tools to develop analog and digital games that reflect their own creative vision. No previous game-making skills are required. Students with an interest in games and visual arts will find the curriculum especially rewarding–and those who complete the two-week program receive 4 units of college credit!

A dynamic summer experience that offers students the opportunity to foster a passion for research and learn about current, open-ended questions. Students choose an interdisciplinary track in STEM, Humanities, and/or Social Sciences where they build on fundamental concepts that lead them to develop a research project with the guidance of experts.

GrubStreet's Teen Summer Writing Fellowship immerses high school students in the writer's life of creative craft and publishing. During three weeks at GrubStreet, teens work with published authors and meet with literary agents and editors, take field trips to inspirational locales like the ICA, and more. In the spirit of writers' residencies for adults, all teens will receive a stipend for their commitment to the program and their time spent as working writers.
Young Canada Works (YCW) in Heritage Organizations (YCWHO) is an employment program for students. It offers them the opportunity to improve their skills while acquiring practical knowledge in the heritage field.
Full-time positions last from six to 16 weeks. Students may work full-time or part-time.
There is no deadline for students to apply, but it is recommended that applicants create an account and submit their candidacy before the summer.

At Youth to Sea, the mission is to coach youth (ages 15-18) and give them opportunities to develop their problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills. By engaging with their local communities through learning journeys, soft skills workshops, and Ocean Service Projects, the program helps equip young people with the skills, tools and strategies they need to be active decision-makers in their local, regional, and national communities.
Students will receive coaching calls with program leaders to support them throughout their time in Youth to Sea. By the end of this program the students are expected to complete up to 120-service hours that will be logged throughout the 10-months.
