Athletics & Intramurals Start September 21

New Opportunities for Grades 5 through 12

Students, look forward to our new Athletics and Intramurals Program launching next week! While staying safely within our cohorts, we’ll be working on our skills and getting in some physical activity.

With a rotating weekly schedule, students can expect about five sessions with their cohorts during the fall season.

Week 1 Athletics & Intramurals Schedule

Be sure to check the schedule each week and see when your cohort’s session will be: there will be both after-school and lunch hour sessions! To keep everyone safe, student participants must follow important safety guidelines.

Athletic & Intramurals: Important Information for Students and Parents

  • Students participating in after-school sessions who require late bussing must register in advance. Please speak to Ms. Young at the front desk by no later than 12:00pm of that day, as the late bus will only be offered if a minimum of four riders register.
  • Sign up is required for Sports Performance Enhancement and Fitness Training sessions. All other sessions do not require sign up.
    • To sign up for Sports Performance Enhancement or Fitness Training, students must email Mr. Scott Spurgeon using their Meadowridge School email addresses with a list of the sessions they wish to attend, the dates, and their grade. With only eight spots per session, students will be accepted on a first-emailed, first-served basis. A confirmation email will be sent to all participants the night before each session by no later than 7:00pm. If you receive the confirmation email, you have a spot. If you do not receive the confirmation email, you have not received a spot and should not stay after school.
  • Students must exit the school within 15 minutes after the after-school sessions end at 5:15pm. Students may wait within their cohorts for the late bus or their rides beneath the tents at the front of the school. Parents, please know that students will not be supervised while waiting to be picked up.
  • Only students who are engaged in practice and with their coach may attend. If students are not following these rules, they may be asked to leave.
  • Changerooms will be cohort specific. The two main changerooms (outside the gymnasium and by the new back portables) will have signs posted with which grades are allowed to enter. Students may only enter their designated cohort changeroom.
  • Our team will be monitoring air quality before any outdoor sessions. If the air quality is poor, we will cancel any outdoor sessions. An email will be sent and/or an announcement will be made if this decision is made.
  • If students are playing outside, cleats are highly recommended as rain is in the forecast!
