Basketball Season Updates - Important

Attention basketball families. Please take note of the following changes to the rules and restrictions for the ongoing season.

Most schools not allowing visitors
Many schools we are playing basketball against are not allowing visitors. If you want to check if visitors are allowed at any road games, please contact Mr. Spurgeon or Mr. Oljaca at least 72 hours in advance.

Gas restrictions, students encouraged to ride the bus
With the current gas restrictions in place, we are following guidelines by the Ministry of Education and BC School Sports to reduce our gas usage while recognizing the physical and mental benefits athletics brings to so many of us. We strongly encourage all students to ride the bus and to not drive or use parent drivers, who are likely unable to enter the hosting schools anyway. For away games we will be trying to increase drop off points, where possible, when returning so students can be picked up closer to home where possible and avoid parents coming to school. This may include a Harris Road drop off at McDonald’s or the west side of Maple Ridge near the Tim Horton’s/Wendy’s. Contact Mr. Spurgeon or Mr. Oljaca in advance to sort out possible options depending on where we are returning from and where you live.

Basketball schedules have been updated
Please note that some of the basketball schedules originally released have been updated for a variety of reasons. Please be sure to check the weekly athletic schedule that comes out the week prior to ensure you have the most up to date schedules.

Complete health check prior to attending home games
For Athletic home indoor games, we ask all adults complete a health check using the attached QR code on the day of the event before entering the school.  This code will also be at the front of the school on game days. Please try to complete it before 2:30pm on game days if possible, however you can do it at the front of the school before entering also.
