Grade 6 to 8 Parent, Student, Teacher Conference Information

The student led conference date is quickly approaching. We wanted to provide a few important details about the logistics for this day so you can make it as meaningful of an experience as possible with your child.

First of all, your child will be leading the session. They have prepared a digital portfolio of their learning highlights so far this year. This portfolio is meant to be a conversation starter, but we do not want students simply reading from their computer screens. Parents, please refer to this document to help guide the conversation with your child.

Second, you will be booking the session according to your child’s advisory teacher’s name. This is only to indicate which classroom your conference will be in, not that you are having a meeting with your child’s advisory teacher. The advisory teacher will, however, be in the room during the conference and will be available to chat.

Lastly, after you finish your conference, we encourage you and your child to go to one of the activity locations. Students can showcase their artwork in the middle school art room, demonstrate their PHE routines in the gym (poi, jumprope, frisbee), play some of their music in the MYP music room, or go to the library to showcase their castle project (grade 8 only).

We look forward to seeing you at school next week.
