Over the weekend, Meadowridge hosted the First Lego League Robotics Qualifying Tournament, an event bringing in over 250 student competitors, parent spectators, and volunteers to our school.
This year’s challenge, City Shapers, called for teams to research and present their own creative solutions to improve their communities. Thirty-two teams – six of them from Meadowridge – accepted the challenge, representing their respective schools at Sunday’s qualifiers. Of our six teams who entered, two will be headed to the provincials next month – quite a feat considering many of them are robotics first timers!
A reporter from the Maple Ridge News spent the afternoon chatting with competitors and covering the event: check out her story.
