Congratulations to Meadowridge’s Top Readers!

Right before spring break, on Thursday March 8, a group of avid readers from Grades 4 and 5 competed in the Fraser Valley Regional Library’s Reading Link Challenge.
These students have been working hard since early in the school year to prepare for the competition. This was not an easy task as they read six novels, gave up their lunch hours to practice, and worked together to learn as much as possible about the books; including the setting, characters, plots and minuscule details.

There was a total of five teams competing against one another as they answered multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions about the books that they read. The winning team is a group of Grade 5 Students: Angelia Q., Diya G., Maya S., Wesley H., and Zoey M. These kids call themselves “The Tim Bit Catz Return” and they are not new to the Reading Link Challenge as they happen to be the exact same team of kids that represented Meadowridge at last year’s competition.

Congratulations on being Meadowridge’s top readers two years in a row!!! These readers will move forward onto the next level of the competition taking place on April 12, where they will compete against other schools from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. We wish them the best of luck in the next level of the Reading Link Competition!
