Middle School Uniform Update

Many of you know that last year we made a few temporary modifications to the middle school uniform policy to address some of the COVID challenges, and we began this school year with the temporary modifications still in place. We are now at the point where we are prepared to return to a more traditional set of uniform expectations, so I wanted to take a minute to outline the changes and expectations. For a full list of uniform guidelines, please visit the uniform page on our school website. We hope that these changes will take effect starting Tuesday, October 12.

  1. All middle school students will begin using the change rooms again for PHE classes. This means they will be responsible for packing their gym strip to school on the days that they have PHE. They will likely need your support in remembering to do this.
  2. On Mondays, all middle school students should be wearing their full number 1 uniform to school but packing gym strip if they have PHE on this day.
  3. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, all middle school students should be wearing their number 2 uniform but packing gym strip if they have PHE on these days.
  4. On Fridays, we are asking all middle school students to wear their gym strip to school as all students will be working outside in the North Forest and Campground during their Explorations block and need to be wearing outdoor appropriate attire. Note: this is a special exception for middle school students; Grade 9 to 12 students will be wearing their number 1 uniforms on Fridays.

We place a lot of value on helping our students understand the importance of dressing well and appropriately, and we look forward to bringing more formality and enhanced responsibility back into the lives of our middle school students.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks.
Mr. Rinn
