Senior Boys Basketball at highest provincial ranking in Meadowridge history

A new first in Gryphon basketball, our Senior Boys Basketball team has climbed to the highest ever provincial ranking by a Gryphon basketball team in our schools 36-year history. On the rankings released January 18, Meadowridge ranked #5 in the province among all single A schools – independent and public! The rankings are based on which teams each school played and the results. The senior boys have just one game to go in the GVISAA league to finish both the division and the Fraser North Zone undefeated going into the playoffs. The senior boys have also been playing several exhibition games against larger schools to become better prepared. While they haven’t won all the exhibition games, they have improved and taken lessons from each one. This past Monday night, the senior boys travelled to Aldergrove Secondary, an AAA school, and won 68-60 in a big upset victory. It is games like this that are driving Meadowridge up in the rankings.

Congratulations to Mr. Oljaca and Mr. McCall in coaching this team and the players for the drive and relentless desire to become stronger.
