Zoom (Video Classes)

Zoom: What it is and how we’ll use it

Using Zoom, teachers will host daily virtual meetings, allowing us to see, hear and engage with each other. Zoom is a tool which allows groups to connect through a video conference. Students will have daily virtual meetings (scheduled at a set time each day) using Zoom.

How to connect to your Zoom Classroom:

Each teacher will have a Zoom meeting ID (located on your grade's webpage). When you open up the Zoom app on your iPhone, tablet, or computer click "Join a Meeting" and enter the Meeting ID of your teacher.
Please enter the first and last name of the person joining the meeting and click "Join".

You do not need to create a Zoom account to access Zoom.

iPhone and Android Zoom Apps

If your child will be using a tablet (iPad) or phone please download the Zoom in the App Store(iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

Zoom on a Laptop or Desktop Computer

Install the Zoom app directly on your laptop or desktop computer.

Student Essential Agreements for Zoom Meetings

Always use polite and courteous language when communicating online.
Dress appropriately.
The microphone will remain switched off until my teacher requests it to be switched on.
The camera option may be switched off so students are not seen by the teacher.
If I want to speak, I will physically raise my hand or use the “raise hand” feature that is available at the bottom center of your screen.
I can ask questions and make comments silently if desired using the “Chat” feature (also on the bottom and center of your screen).
An adult will be present in the home to assist with any issues during prearranged Zoom calls.
Video contact with the teacher will only be made via Zoom at the published schedule time.
Never distribute videos, images or audio files outside the school network without the permission of all parties involved
All online activity, both in school and outside school, will not cause the school, staff, students or others distress or bring the school community into disrepute, including through uploads of images, video, sounds or texts.
Never publish or send audio or visuals captured at school or during online school-related meetings from home to the public domain. For example Instagram, Facebook or YouTube.

ManageBac

ManageBac: How we’ll use it

High School students will be familiar with ManageBac already. We will use ManageBac to share learning engagements, assignments, and more.

MangeBac is an online IB focused curriculum management system for our Middle and High school students. All current students from Grade 6 to 12 will already have accounts and access to their classes thorugh ManageBac.
