  • Class of 2005
William Robson

William Robson is married to Yasmin Shakarami, who is from Munich, Germany. They met on the last day of Yasmin's vacation to Vancouver a little over a year ago. Sharing their love for philosophy, literature, and writing they stayed in contact. William decided to visit Yasmin last summer to accept a Johnny Cash karaoke challenge. Feeling the ring of fire, they began a long distance relationship, visiting each other every second month, both swept off their feet by love and by airplanes. Yasmin is completing her Masters in Philosophy & Applied Ethics while William works in the local film industry on shows such as Supergirl, Lost In Space, and Project MC2.

Evelyn Chang

Evelyn is currently attending the University of Toronto. Over the summer, she travelled to Spain for a five-week exchange through her University, travelling to Barcelona, Seville, Ronda, and Lisbon in Portugal. Evelyn reports back that the trip was a success, and she enjoyed trying new food, meeting new people, and learning new things every day.

Mike Just

Mike graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He now works for the Toronto Police Service and recently became engaged to Rachel Kozlowski. The two are currently planning their wedding for summer 2018.

Robert Teszka

Robert is returning to British Columbia this year, after spending the past seven years living in England. During his time overseas, he completed a Masters degree, started a PhD, left academia, and travelled across Great Britain and Europe giving talks and performing magic—including hosting parlour shows at the prestigious Magic Circle club! Robert will return to Canada and continue his work as a freelance speaker, consultant, and performer.

Molly Sprague

Molly graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University in 2011. After earning her degree, she made the decision to join her family’s interior design firm, where she is now serving as the Director of Operations at Good Space Design Group. Molly runs all the day-to-day client operations while managing client care, purchasing, and social media.

Anna Schlagintweit

Anna is making big life changes. After graduating from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business in 2013, and four successful years in the workforce, she has decided to pursue her dream career in law. She has been accepted into the University of Calgary Law School and will begin her studies in September. In the meantime, she is wrapping up her time with Tourism Burnaby, where she has served as the Manager for Business Development.

Mike Wilson

Mike is currently teaching Social Studies at the Nanjing Foreign Language School: BC Academy. Mike continues to travel as much as possible; last year, he jetted to India and toured the country, including stops in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. In addition to his work and travels, Mike is preparing for a new adventure: teaching at one of China’s top Foreign Language Schools in Nanjing. This new position has him studying for his Level 3 certification for proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

Jennifer Laidlaw (nee Ford)

Jennifer is working as the Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist for the Fraser Health Authority. In April, she and her husband Josh welcomed two twin boys, Maxwell and Oliver; Jennifer is pleased to report that they are happy, healthy, and the couple couldn’t be more grateful – even despite their sleep deprivation!

Sabine Kempe

Sabine is working as the Financial Controller for Telus. This fall, she will be marrying Garett Luu, whom she met while articling at another firm. Her wedding party will include two Meadowridge alumni: her maid of honour, Jessica Price ’04, and Shauna Wilson ‘05.

Michelle Prince (nee Maher)

Michelle graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2011 with an honour degree, and has been working with Global TV since; recently, she was promoted to Accounts Manager. Michelle is married with a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter named Payton.

Kyle Sholes

Kyle just finished up with the Ontario Legislature Internship Programme, a non-partisan internship where he worked with two of Ontario's Members of Provincial Parliament. In addition to preparing bills and writing speeches, Kyle got to meet past Premiers, Cabinet Ministers, and other famous Canadians (like Peter Mansbridge!). Through his internship, he also had the chance to travel to the legislatures in Quebec City, Yellowknife, and Colombus, Ohio as well as the parliaments in Ottawa and London.

Kimberly Dyer

Kimberly graduated from the Dance Performance Program at George Brown College this spring, and has already been accepted to the Mentorship Program with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen. The Mentorship Program serves to bridge the gap between training as a student in the college and working as a professional dancer.

Devon Turner

Devon and his fiancée Madison welcomed their daughter Quinn Leila Turner on February 17, 2017. She was born in Abbotsford weighing 6 lbs 5 oz. They have also recently purchased a home in Langley, BC.

Navpreet Chhina

Navpreet is working as the Communications Coordinator at the Resident Doctors of BC Association. She is also working towards earning her Juris Doctor in Law at Thompson Rivers University, setting her sights for graduation in 2019. When Navpreet is not at work or in class, she travels as much as possible. This year she has already ventured to San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles; later this summer, she is off to Peru.
