Grade 7 students have been busily exploring the “Nature of Science” in an interactive, introductory unit.
To start things off and to set the class up for the learning ahead, students participated in the “Measuring Liquid Volume Lab—” a lab that sounds basic, but is anything but. In this colourful and hands-on lab, students learn how to write hypotheses, identify variables, write detailed procedures, make observations, collect data, use lab equipment and create, read, and make inferences to charts and graphs.
To do all this (and to create the colourful ranges of colours which appears before them) students use liquids with alternating volumes and practice a range of lab skills.
