A Lucky Lunar Celebration!

Happy Lunar New Year, Meadowridge! It’s the Year of the Rabbit, and to celebrate, we started Friday morning off with a lucky Lunar New Year assembly filled with outstanding performances. We enjoyed a lion and fan dance by our Grade 2 students, were serenaded by a Guzheng (Chinese) instrument, and by our Advanced Orchestra Club, followed by a classical violin, piano, and cello number by a few of our Grade 8 Students. We can’t forget about the captivating Celadon Catwalk performed by our Grade 9 to 11 Students and the gripping talents of Master Junos’ Sichuan face-changing Opera! Our Dragon Dance Club closed the assembly with an amazing performance, led by Grade 11 student Christina S.

After the assembly, our students took part in an array of cultural activities like dumpling making, painting calligraphy, and cutting festive red paper decorations.

For lunch, the menu was packed with over 50 different varieties of food, each dish playing an important role in bringing good fortune and luck for the new year.

Thank you to all our dedicated parent volunteers, students, teachers, and staff who made this special day possible and to everyone who came to celebrate with us!
