Meadowridge All-School Lunches are Back

It’s been some time since everyone, students and staff, enjoyed a meal together that was provided by the school. Eating together creates a greater sense of community and allows for open-mindedness and care. We have had much success with All-School lunch days before COVID, so we will be bringing these back for the 2022/23 school year. The dates for this school year will be on Tuesday, December 13, Thursday, March 9 and Thursday, June 8.

On this day, Sage Dining and the School will be providing lunch to all students and staff. Sage will prepare the regular lunch menu of hot entrées (vegetarian option available), soup, salad, fruit and milk. For this day, some items will not be available during the lunch period including pizza, grill, and transit fare. These will be available for purchase per normal before or after lunch. Students and staff will come to the cafeteria as part of their regular lunch period but the difference is that everyone can get their lunch on this day, so no need to bring a lunch from home. All students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 will have their meals delivered to their classroom and are invited to enjoy the delicious food that Sage prepares.

For those students with food allergies, Sage is aware of those concerns since families will have already advised the school. If there have been recent changes in your child’s food allergies, please contact the School as soon as possible.

Our goal is that everyone enjoys a delicious and nutritious meal together. Parenting expert and bestselling author, Barbara Coloroso said, “there is something profoundly satisfying about sharing a meal. Eating together, breaking bread together, is one of the oldest and most fundamentally unifying of human experiences” which aligns with our mission of “Learning to live well with others and for others, in a just community.”
