In honour of Hispanic Heritage Month, Grade 8 Spanish students have been learning about influential figures from the Hispanic culture in an exciting project titled Hispanos Famosos, meaning Famous Hispanics.
Each student selected a notable individual who impacted areas such as music, sports, science, and much more and then delved into research to understand their lives and contributions better.
This was an excellent opportunity for students to practice writing simple sentences in Spanish while presenting facts about their chosen individuals. The final product? Creative posters that display their research in Spanish, designed to share fun and educational insights with their peers.
The posters are displayed along the Fitness Centre windows in the Middle School atrium. Each showcases the students' growing language skills and a newfound appreciation for Hispanic culture. Check them out to learn more about these famous Hispanic figures and celebrate their lasting legacies.
