COVID-19 and Flu Season Update: A Message from Mr. Scott Banack

The Meadowridge Administrative Team continues to meet regularly to monitor and take precautionary measures to limit the spread. On Wednesday, the BC Ministry of Health and BC health officer release a joint statement saying:

“The risk of this virus spreading within British Columbia remains low at this time. We are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves and will notify the public if the measures in B.C. change.”

We will be continuing to educate on and follow the recommended precautions to limit the spread of any cold or flu as recommended by the BC Centre for Disease control. These precautions include:

  • washing your hands regularly with soap and water
  • covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneeze
  • avoiding others who are unwell
  • staying home when you are sick
  • avoiding touching your face

Additionally, we will continue with a verbal greeting instead of our traditional handshake as an additional precaution. Please be reminded to check the Government of Canada website for any travel advisories as we approach our spring break.

I am proud to acknowledge how we have actively collaborated to care for ourselves and others, while engaging this challenging and complex issue. Thank you to our entire community for coming together during this challenging time.
