Over a few days and with many helping hands, the Meadowridge campus transformed, brimming with bright colours and light. Diwali Celebrations have become an important day in the year, a time when our community comes together, and traditions and cultures are shared.
Friday’s celebrations kicked off with an assembly, featuring song and dance and sharing of customs. Students, teachers, families, and friends enjoyed Bhangra, Garba, Bharatanatyam, and Gida dance performances from an array of talented students and parents.
Following the assembly, elementary school students headed back to their classes for an afternoon of hands-on activities and learning, including making and colouring Rangolis in all sorts of ways. Over in the cafeteria, a buffet of traditional cuisine was shared with all students, parents, and guests.
Diwali, the festival of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness, is also a time of learning and sharing at Meadowridge School.
Thank you to our 30 parent volunteers who planned, worked, and organized this memorable and beautiful celebration.
