Over the weekend, Meadowridge hosted the International History Bee and Bowl of Vancouver. Twenty-eight Meadowridge students from Grades 4 to 6 showcased their knowledge and quick thinking at the annual International History Bowl and Bee hosted at Meadowridge. Competing in a fast-paced buzzer-style tournament, students answered challenging history and geography questions in team (Bowl) and individual (Bee) formats.
Among the standout performances, one of our teams placed second overall in the elementary division, Congratulations to Maggie Y. (Grade 6), Emma T. (Grade 5), Klaus W. (Grade 5), Silas W. (Grade 6), and Aiden Y. (Grade 6) on this incredible achievement, which qualifies them for Nationals as well as the International History Olympiad.
The all grade 5 team of Kylen S., Eaton S., Aydin L. and Kay L. were semi-finalists and also qualified for Nationals, as well as the International History Olympiad. In the Bee competition, Silas W. (Grade 6) and Klaus W. (Grade 5) distinguished themselves with top finishes and earned qualification on to the next rounds.
Overall, seven teams represented Meadowridge, making the event a fantastic opportunity for students to test their knowledge, build teamwork, and engage in spirited competition. Their dedication and enthusiasm were on full display throughout the tournament. Thank you to Ms. Jacus for helping make this event possible.
