ISABC Youth Sustainability Conference

On Friday, February 21, nine students participated in the 3rd Annual ISABC Youth Sustainability Conference, titled Game Changers, alongside Ms. Amanda Mack and Mr. James Willms, who also serves as Co-Chair of the Conference Planning Committee. The event gathered over 300 middle and high school students from ISABC schools.

More than 25 workshop presenters covered topics such as biodiversity, sustainability solutions, climate action, and environmental advocacy—especially timely with Earth Day approaching. Meadowridge students and teachers engaged with peers from other schools, exchanging ideas on initiatives like food waste reduction, regenerative sustainability plans, farm-to-food bank programs, and energy conservation efforts.

Grade 10s connected with the Tasty, Not Waste-y and Ocean Wise Sea Dome presentations. The biggest takeaway for students was the chance to network with passionate environmental leaders and learn about sustainability efforts in school communities across BC.

"This conference was incredibly insightful and inspirational. It provided me with the opportunity to engage and learn with students from other schools on the topic of sustainability. Overall, it was both a fun and educational experience."
