Earlier this month, 18 students from Grades 6 to 12 attended the 4th Annual ISABC Youth Sustainability Conference: ReGeneration Rising. Together with Mr. James Willms, the group joined peers from over 20 ISABC schools.
Interest this year skyrocketed compared with last year’s nine delegates. We filled all 20 available seats, with over 35 students from across the grades expressing interest. The conference drew 380 students and 40+ presenters from across the province.
Grade 11 students Priscilla H., Katherine L., and Christine W. from ECO Club delivered a workshop equipping students with tools to drive regenerative change in their schools. Students engaged with peers from other schools, exchanging ideas on initiatives such as food-waste reduction, regenerative sustainability plans, farm-to-food-bank programs, and energy-conservation efforts.
