Meadowridge Partial Reopening for June 1st

MAY 19, 2020 – Meadowridge School to move from Stage 4 to Stage 3 in June 2020

As per the Ministry of Education’s Education Restart Plan, Meadowridge School will be moving from Stage 4 to Stage 3 on June 1, 2020 as part of the province’s gradual reentry plan. A full release detailing Meadowridge’s plans can be found here.

To best understand our plans moving forward, please be aware of the following:

  • All parts of this plan are purely voluntary: it is your choice to send your children to school or to keep them home.
  • At-Home Learning will continue for families who wish to remain at home.
  • Strict safety protocols will continue on campus, including social distancing and sanitization.
  • The Stage we are in can change at any time.

What the move means for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5
Students can attend two days per week, with no more than 50% of students in the school at any given time. Special arrangements (including interim 5 day-a-week childcare) can be made for children of essential service workers.

What the move means for students in Grade 6 to Grade 12
Students can attend 20% of the time, with no more than 20% of students in the school at any given time. In practical terms, this means that students can be in the school one day a week in smaller groups. Special arrangements (including interim 5 day-a-week childcare) can be made for children of essential service workers.

What’s next? We will be sending all families a survey to complete. Please let us know of your intentions – whether you wish to send your child(ren) to school or keep them home – in the survey. The survey will also capture any additional support required for households with essential service workers. From this survey, the actual details of which students can attend, in what groupings, and when will be released in the next ten days.
