The Senior Boys Basketball team had an outstanding weekend at the Fraser North Championships, hosted by Maple Ridge Christian School.
After a close loss to MRCS earlier in the season, the team prepared for a rematch with a berth to the Provincial Championships on the line. Following a strong win over Deer Lake in the semifinals, Meadowridge faced the province’s #5-ranked MRCS in the final. With an early lead in the first quarter, the team maintained momentum to secure victory and claim the Fraser North Championship title for the second year in a row.
Congratulations to Rico X., named Tournament All-Star, and to Myles G., who earned the Tournament MVP honour. Thank you to the coaches, Mr. Steve Just ’05 and Mr. Charles Schofield, for their leadership. With this win, the team advances to the 1A Boys Provincial Championships at the Langley Events Centre, happening March 4 to 7.
Seeding will be announced on Sunday, March 1, at 3:00pm during the online seeding show, at which point the game time for the first-round matchup will be set. All tournament information, including live results, can be found on the BCSS tournament website.
