Seven talented theatre students took the stage at the Theatrical Arts Education Association’s Fraser Valley Regional STAR Fest, hosted at the Clarke Theatre in Mission. Their exceptional performances earned them placements in the Proficient and Advanced categories, securing their spots at the prestigious STAR Fest Nationals at Douglas College this April.
Guided by the mentorship of Mrs. Danielle Donovan, Mrs. Isable Pava, and Mrs. Melanie White, the students independently selected, staged, and rehearsed their works, crafting each performance without directorial input. This student-led approach highlighted their creativity and dedication.
Beyond the performances, participants engaged in workshops on makeup artistry, stage management, improvisation, and audition taping. They also collaborated with and learned from peers from other schools, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and mutual support.
We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements:
- James L. – Lighting and Scenic Design
- Richard C. – Solo Musical Theatre, Ensemble Musical Theatre
- Alina P. – Solo Musical Theatre, Duo Musical Theatre, Ensemble Musical Theatre
- Lucas L. – Monologue, Ensemble Musical Theatre
- Nathan P. – Duo Musical Theatre, Ensemble Musical Theatre
- Lyndsay F. – Solo Musical Theatre

Congratulations to our students and their teachers for showcasing the power of creativity, collaboration, and perseverance. We look forward to cheering you on at Nationals.
