Playoffs, PlayDays, and Player Reminders

As the basketball season settles into its final few weeks, here's where our teams stand:

The Grade 5 Girls team wraps up their season next Monday, February 11 with the ISEA PlayDay tournament. No seedings or results are recorded at this level.

The Grade 6 & 7 Girls team continues to play in the SD. 42 league, with two or three more games to go. Congratulations to our Girls for their most recent win at Golden Ears Elementary. This year, we have two teams at this level, and our ISEA team will be hosting the Championship on February 22 with all eight teams attending the Grade 7 Tier 2 Championship. The tournament will run all day, and our girls look to be in great shape as they will likely be the third or fourth seed. They have a big game coming up at Crofton on February 12 that will determine this!

The Grade 6 & 7 Boys team continues to play in the SD. 42 League and will have two more games in this league. Congratulations to our Boys for their most recent win at Webster's Corner Elementary. We have two teams at this level, and our ISEA Boys team is headed to the Championships on February 22 with eight other Tier 2 teams. The tournament will run all day, and our boys look to be entering the tournament as third seed. The ISEA team is on a three-game winning streak!

The Bantam Girls have one game remaining in their season, and it's a big one. On Monday, the Girls host King David High School, and a win will solidify them as a solid second seed for the Championship. A loss, however, could drop them as low as fourth seed and force them into a qualifying round one game on February 26. The Final Four is being hosted at Khalsa School on March 5. Good luck to our girls for their big game on Monday—if you can, please come out and support them! There will be complimentary GOLD-level seating available for the 4:00pm tipoff. Just say the magic words, "Go Gryphons!"

The Junior Boys GVISAA league is made up of a large group of 17 schools. Our Boys play their first-round playoff game on Wednesday, February 6 (today, from the time I am writing this). The Junior Boys' match-up in the first-round is King David, and we play them on the home court. The winner of today's game goes on to play Deer Lake on Monday, February 11 at 4:00pm. Following the second-round game at Deer Lake, the winner goes to the GVISAA Championship hosted here at Meadowridge. The semi final game will be from 10:00am to 11:30am, the Bronze and Fourth place game is at 2:15pm, and the Gold and Silver game is at 3:45pm. There will be lots of seating available throughout the day, so be sure to come catch some fast basketball in action. (and hopefully our Gryphons battling for a banner!)

Both the Senior Boys and Senior Girls basketball teams folded prior to the playoffs, and their seasons are now over. Players, please return your uniforms as instructed (check your emails for details).
