MEADOWRIDGE SCHOOL PRESENTS
Cracking the Code: Keys to Access and Success at US Colleges & Universities
"Cracking the Code" is a new program that Peter Van Buskirk has developed exclusively for the international audience. He will include insider insights into topics such as the Pyramid of Selectivity, Competitive Playing Field, Hidden Agendas, and Hotspots and Hooks. Additionally, Peter incorporates stories and illustrations to provide relevant/contextual interpretations of the college application process, customized for international populations, that will put our US-bound students in a better position to find success as applicants. In particular, the presentation will:
Differentiate between educational options (college vs university)
Debunk rankings (at least, put them in perspective!)
Focus on student-centeredness and finding "fit"
Examine the role of ROI and the need to project "value"
Provide insight into contextual admission reviews (relevance of IB, AP)
Reveal the importance of "connecting the dots" in the holistic admission
Discuss the implications of pending (affirmative action) court actions
This event is suitable for anybody who wishes to learn more about U.S. university admissions. It is free and open to all Meadowridge families and friends as well as the general public.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2019 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM
Admission is Free / No RSVP Required / Open to the Public
