Dining Services
Lunchtime at Meadowridge is a culinary adventure. Managed and staffed by SAGE Dining Services, our Cafeteria is committed to providing healthy, delicious meal options to our community.
Our chefs cook most items from scratch, use local ingredients when possible, and the menu is as creative as it is fresh. Every day, there are delicious entrées to choose from (one is always vegetarian), as well as equally delicious standbys, which are available every day.

Reminder:
A friendly reminder that all cafeteria accounts should be kept prepaid—whether for Grades 6 to Grade 12 purchases or for the Daily Meal Option in Grades Kindergarten to Grade 5. At Winter Break, Spring Break, and the last day of school, any overdrawn cafeteria accounts will be transferred to your school account and a 10% administration fee will apply.
Cafeteria Overview by Grade
Junior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten students are automatically enrolled in the Annual Lunch Program as part of their enrollment in the school – teachers determine the food selection in consultation with the child and parents.
Kindergarten to Grade 5
Annual Lunch Program
Kindergarten to Grade 5 may opt-in to the Annual Program – families who wish to enroll must submit the Annual Lunch Program registration form and, once enrolled, make their selections one week in advance on the SAGE Dinings Services website.
You will receive an email from the Finance Office confirming your enrollment. If you did not receive this email, you are not enrolled in the program.
NEW: Option to order one meal type for the entire year
Families enrolled in the Annual Lunch Program will have the option to order one meal type for the entire year. This is only for students with no known food allergies.
NEW: Only families enrolled in the Annual Lunch Program will receive lunches during the first two weeks of school. These lunches will be pre-selected by the School to help support families during hectic time. Meals will be allergen-friendly and include vegetarian options.
Daily Meal Option (Or Pre-Ordering for Occasional Daily Meal)
Kindergarten to Grade 5 students may pre-order a lunch on a specific day without enrolling in the Annual Lunch Program. Won't be able to make lunch for Mondays? Don't worry, just pre-order lunch by registering for SAGE Dining and submit orders the Thursday before, by 3:00pm.
NEW: No Occasional Daily Meal ordering the first two weeks of school
For families not on the Annual Lunch Program, who wish to order a Daily Meal Option for their child can begin doing so starting for the third week of September. This means choosing a Daily Meal Option only begins for the third week of school.
Please note: There is no walk-up lunch cafeteria service for JK to Grade 5 students.
Grade 6 to Grade 12
Lunch and snacks are available to purchase during the school day, before and after-school, at the cafeteria for all students in Grades 6 to 12 using a prepaid dining model and scannable Student Cafeteria cards. This system allows for the following:
- Improved Convenience: By pre-paying, your child has access to meals without carrying cash or worry about daily transactions.
- Financial Planning: You can budget more effectively by managing your child's cafeteria expenses in advance.
- Flexibility and Control: You have the flexibility to add funds to your child's account whenever it suits you best.
Under this new system, families will need to add funds to their children’s MyKidsSpending accounts in advance.

Starting this year, cafeteria purchases can be paid directly with a debit card, or you may add funds to your SAGE account in person using a debit card. We are moving away from cash payments, as electronic options are more efficient and reduce the risk of errors or misplaced funds.
Cheques and Cash (max. $200)
For personal cheques please make it payable to SAGE Dining, in the bottom left-hand corner of the cheque there is a place for a memo. In this space, please write the students full name FIRST, LAST or the students ID#. These cheques can be deposited in our safe drop box located to the right of the front doors to the school. You can also present this cheque or a one-time cash deposit of no more than $200 to any SAGE team member. They will provide a handwritten receipt for your deposit.

MyKidsSpending (MKS) enables parents to track their child's spending online and pay the balance. Click the link below and fill in the fields. You will need your child's student number, which can be found in your Meadowridge Hub Account. Please note a 4% deposit fee will be added to an online MKS payment.

Families NOT on the Annual Lunch Program:
Families wanting to order the occasional meal for their child(ren) or use the Daily Meal Option, will need to register for their online ordering account and MyKidsSpending account with the new Student ID prefix. Please add PYP if your child is in Grades Kindergarten to Grade 5 before your child's student ID to register for both accounts. The Daily Meal Option is available for onsite campus lunches. Bagged lunches are not available under the daily meal option.

Daily Meal Option
We have introduced updates to our school lunch offerings that will make things easier and more flexible for families. The DMO allows families to pre-order meals occasionally, only when needed.

Student Cafeteria Cards
Returning Students: Please keep your Cafeteria Card safe. You will not receive a new one at the beginning of the year.
Using their scannable cafeteria card, students in Grades 6 to 12 can make food purchases directly at the cafeteria. Under this system, families will need to add funds to their children’s accounts in advance. Implementing this system allows for:
- Improved Convenience: By prepaying into the cafeteria accounts, your child has access to meals without the need to carry cash or worry about daily transactions.
- Financial Planning: The prepaid model allows you to budget more effectively by managing your child's cafeteria expenses in advance.
- Flexibility and Control: You have the flexibility to add funds to your child's account whenever it suits you best, making it easier to ensure they always have access to nutritious meals.
All new students to Meadowridge School and all returning students from grade 5 going into grade 6 will receive their personal Student Cafeteria Cards in their Advisory class on the first day of school. All returning students in the middle school and high school are reminded to bring their cards used last school year. Should returning students not have their cards, they can use their picture Student ID or can see Ms. Young at the front office for a replacement.
Adding FundsTo add funds to your child's cafeteria account, you have two convenient options:

- Load Funds Online: Via the MyKidsSpending website, families can easily add funds using their credit card by following the simple instructions to securely upload funds. Credit card fee applies.

If a student has insufficient funds, they will not be able to charge any amount to their account, but SAGE will write down their order on a Food Voucher and SAGE will charge the student account at a later date, or the school will send you an invoice for that meal. Students will also be given a “Low Funds card” which acts as a reminder to upload funds onto your child's MyKidsSpending account. This has been put in place so when your child's account has low or no funds, you will get a reminder card.
*Please ensure to put funds onto your child's account before the next day to reduce the amount of vouchers going out to families.
