Kindergarten to Grade 5 (PYP) Clubs
Our Primary Years Clubs (Kindergarten to Grade 5) are offered after school, Monday to Thursday from 3:40pm to 4:40pm. PYP Clubs are not mandatory for students yet many families take advantage of our offerings.
As well as the clubs listed below, athletic opportunities are available for student from Kindergarten to Grade 4 through intramurals. Students will play a mix o sports and activities and experience a little bit of competition too.

Reading Link Club Delve into the sport of reading! Students read a selection of books and then compete - first against one another, and then against other school teams in local and district challenges. Teams answer questions about characters, plots, and settings in a range of quiz-style rounds.

Ready to Lead Club Ready To Lead goes through the book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey and teaches students how to be an effective leader and role model

The Musical Lights, camera, action! Students produce and perform a grand production each year, which is showcased in the Theatre for the whole community to enjoy. Previous productions included The Jungle Book and Rock 'n Roll Forever.

PYP Clubs are held over three terms.

Bricks For Kids This is a hands-on club: students design and build machines, catapults, pyramids, derby cards, buildings, and other constructions out of LEGO bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture, and physics, students develop problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Master Memorizers Taught by Meadowridge Alumni, Kavita Dau '16, this club is about maximizing your child's potential and learning in their current grade. Each week your child will how to remember, recall, and apply what they learn in school, ranging from English spellings to Science to new French words.

Marimba Master the marimba: a wooden, percussion instrument similiar to a xylophone. Lead by our very own marimba expert, Mrs. Durno.

Math Math Edge uses a variety of brain-boosting activities to help your child solve problems in cool and engaging ways.With each math lesson, students develops problem solving skills, as well as math proficiency, speed and accuracy. You’ll love seeing your child learn to think independently, build math confidence and have a lot of fun.

Sewing Club Start from the beginning using a hand sewing needle and thread, practicing stitches and learning what supplies you need. Then move on to making hand sewing projects. Further into the term, learn about the sewing machine and practice machine sewing, working your way to making a small project with the sewing machine.

Soccer Introduction to Soccer. Basic skills, drills and short games on our outdoor front soccer field. Sessions will incorporate proper technique infused with fun, fast paced activities to help foster confidence in team sports in a friendly and safe environment.

Tennis Skills This club will offer an introduction to the game of tennis with the teaching of basic skills through drills and short games indoors.

Young Moviemakers Young Moviemakers is an award-winning acting and video production program for children and youth. Participants learn the importance of visual storytelling, scriptwriting, acting, editing and more, through the creation and production of a short film.

Toastminors Public speaking is a number one fear, but it doesn't have to be. Students explore a mix of presentation forms - comedy, advertising, debate, explination, and storytelling - and learn to develop a strong argument with thesis, supporting points, and concluding statements.

Storytelling Spelling This club is about unlocking every child’s genius and the chance to excel. The only thing your child needs to bring is their imagination! And week by week, we'll build the skills and tools which will maximize their learning - in their current grade and in the future.
